1.1 OUR SETUP
For this intermediate level tutorial we will make a 3d printed bearing mount, which will house a press fit radial bearing. This can be utilized if you have something in your system that needs an axle or similar, which movement then can be constrained by the bearing. We will set up some goals for our design:
- Tolerance of press-fit needs to be adjustable
β Then we can make a perfect press fit, according to the 3d printers tolerance
β You can employ this tool to get approximate values for your 3d printed fitment. - Hole size for bolts need to be adjustable
- The entire mount scales with the bearing diameter and width, so mounts for other size bearings can be made as well
